In response to current challenges, El Centro NW, in collaboration with Oregon Synod, offers a social justice advocacy program to protect the rights of immigrants and workers:
- Information on immigrant rights and resources such as PIRC and ECO
- ICE Watch Group, trained through PIRC’s Migrant Watch, to monitor and respond to detentions
- Support contacting PIRC and ECO during detentions
- Assistance to workers facing labor abuses, including guidance for filing BOLI complaints and connections to pro bono attorneys
- Free notary services for legal documents and community needs
Our goal is to empower the community, ensure the protection of immigrant rights, and encourage
active participation in social justice advocacy.
